My Kind of Evening

Mmm…I love cinnamon rolls. In Japan it is difficult to find really juicy and lovely cinnamon rolls. Therefore I often make them by myself. Tonight I made these lovely ones. Recipe is created by the Danish pastry chef, Mette Blomsterberg.

Japanese Luxury

Dear Beautiful,

I hope you are having a cozy season.

Yesterday, I past by an article about how to stay relaxed and cozy in winter in Japan. The article mentioned 6 different kind of hot springs (onsen). One particalur looked so lovely. It was located in the midst of nature.

If you are not living in Japan, and come to Japan, it is such a lovely and extraordinary experience to stay at a Japanese hotel (ryokan) with onsen.

The onsen tradition dates back thousands of years and Japanese culture embraces it as both a luxury and daily necessity.

The onsen water is rich in minerals, appreciated for its “qi” (energy) properties that have been absorbed from the surrounding nature, and especially beneficial to well being and health.

Happy December!

Oh, these truffles looks so tempting.

Next week is my Christmas Shopping week. My Japanese class has stopped for a little winter break. I am so looking forward to do all the Christmas Shopping, writing Christmas Cards and do some Christmas Cooking.  My family lives in Denmark so I need to prepare for presents to be sent. I am currently making a list of what to gift them.

Yesterday,  I went to an amazing shop in the little city where I live. The name of the shop is Today’s Special.

Delicious Olive Oil, Almond, Pear Cake

Dear Lovelies,

This week I made another lovely cake. I LOVE baking. It makes my heart sings. And it feels so naturally; to look after a new recipe, to buy the ingredients, and to make it!

This cake is inspired by Cécile Molinié & Aran Goyoaga. It is a very soft and delicate cake because of the olive oil, the coconut milk and the zest from the lemon. You can make it with any fruits you like.

The recipe can be found here Cake.

Wishing you a lovely weekend & stay warm and with someone you love.

Gingerbread Bundt Cake

Oh, the other day, I made this lovely and soft Gingerbread Bundt Cake created by Linda Lomelino. The smell of the cake reminded me of Christmas. Inside it is filled with lovely spices, like cinnamon, ginger, cardamom.

I only made half portion, as we only are two people in the household. And it was big enough! I added a little less sugar, and used brown sugar. Also I didn’t have cane sugar, so I made it myself by heating up a mixture of brown sugar and water (in the ratio of 1 1/4 cup of sugar to 1/3 cup of water).

The recipe can be found here Gingerbread Bundt Cake.

Please have a lovely & inspiring day!

Much Love

Dreams Are For Real

Dear Sweet Soul,

This week my sister and her boyfriend visited me/us for the first time since I moved to Tokyo. It was so nice. Let her see my world, was something special. Things, I only had talked about in phone, became real.

This weekend they are traveling to Kyoto. And next week we are going to join the last days together in Tokyo. I will show her all my favorite places, Japanese tea houses, cake shops, book shops and much more. I LOVE Tokyo. It is still one of my favorite places in the world. Why?

It’s a beautiful city, very clean, and people are so kind and the food very tasty. Furthermore the weather is lovely, very warm and soothing in spring and autumn.

I LOVE pictures, therefore all these pictures below.

Enjoy you Saturday!

Who Do You Admire ?

Chanel

Dear Gorgeous Woman | ゴージャス な女性  | Gōjasu na Josei

“Fashion is not simply a matter of clothes. Fashion is in the air, born upon the wind. One intuits it. It is in the sky and on the road.”  Coco Chanel.

When I was 15 years old I created my first email-address. The name was chanel@post.tele.dk. I was so happy that I was able to create that name. I loved it so much.  I think that was my beginning of my Chanel adventure. I started to purchase her perfumes. I visited her shop in Paris, Chanel – 31 Rue Cambon, and watched haute couture shows on TV.

After have watched movies about her life I started to fall in love with Coco Chanel’s (Gabrielle Bonheur “Coco” Chanel) personality. Her passion, her creativity and her love for making women adorable and comfortable. There are made several movies about Coco Chanel. My favorite one is Coco Chanel (2008). It is such a beautiful and touching movie that describes Coco Chanel’s life from her early childhood until her late 80’s.
