Nursing Day

Dear Beauties

I hope you are doing fine and enjoying the beginning of a new month, September. I love September. It is still quite hot in Japan. Today it reached 28 degrees. However, it was not human today, so it felt good.

When I woke up this morning my sweet body felt so tired. I usually go for a walk in the morning for about 40 min. Today, I just walked a little.

After having my breakfast with my husband, I still felt tired. I cleaned, and then took a lovely bathtub with my coffee & vanilla body scrub. It felt so good. I made the body scrub by myself for about 2 months ago.

After the shower and bathtub, I felt like going to one of my favorite area of Tokyo. It is called Daikanyama and is only 15 min. by train from where we live. It is such a peaceful and yet trendy place where you can enjoy yourself with a cup coffee, books, and fashionable shops. I enjoyed myself with books and coffee.

The Embassy of Denmark is also located in Daikanyama. And today I received an invitation letter to meet the Crown Princess Couple of Denmark, Frederik & Mary at the Embassy in October.  The royal family is coming to Tokyo due to the 150th Anniversary of Japan-Denmark Diplomatic Relations. I feel excited to meet them in person and maybe talk to them.

Dear  Beauties,

I hope you are enjoying late summer. Right now in Japan, it is very hot, around 33 degrees, sunny and humid.

My husband cannot stand the heat. He feels so exhausted when he comes back home from work.

I really love it. I feel the heat and the sun are healing my body. Also, I have quite light skin and I feel so happy to see my arms get a bit sun tan.

How about you? Do you enjoy summertime?

At the moment I really enjoy seeing fashion and beauty lover (and dachshund lover), Peony Lim. She is incredibly beautiful and gives so many tips/tutorials on how to create a beautiful/stunning makeup.  She also loves to cook and travel.

Besides all her beauty tips, I love the colors she uses on her homepage, Instagram. They are all so bright and happy! And classic.

With a Chinese and English background Peony Lim travels between London and Asia to write her peonylim.com, work as a creative and social media consultant, luxury brand ambassador and find pieces to sell in her online boutique.

Peony Lim studied Fashion Promotion at London University of Arts, and graduated with a First Class Degree in Art History from the Courtauld Institute, ref. peonylim.com

Do you have a favorite person you follow?  Or someone you admire?

Until then, have fun!

Birthday Girl!

Dear Sweet Souls

Today, it is my birthday. I cannot really believe it. One year has already passed. So fast!!

Yesterday evening, I looked back on my year that had past and expressed gratitude for my experiences.

How do you express gratitude for your life? I am feeling so immensely happy that I am able to live the life I am living. Every day is truly a blessing. Recently, I have started a new morning routine. I wake up early in the morning. Immediately, my sweet body likes to go outside and say hello to a new day. Although I feel it is very early, at 5.30 a.m, it feels so good afterward. I usually walk for about 50 min. We are living close to a huge park which I usually go through.

After my morning walk, I do a little self-massage on my face. It is a Japanese face massage which I felt in love with after my return from a face massage in Tokyo. The face massage stimulates the blood cells in your face as well as in your body as the face is tightly connected to your body. Do you also have a similar morning routine?

Stay lovely,

Jeanette

A Leisurely Stroll in Daikanyama, the Brooklyn of Tokyo

Happy weekend!! And happy 1st of April!!

Today, my husband and I went for a little stroll in our favorite area of Tokyo. The area is called Daikanyama (some call it the Brooklyn of Tokyo). Why do we love it?

It’s filled with lovely small shops, mainly trendy fashion shops and cafés. Also the famous book shop, Tsutaya Books (T-site) is alocated there. Tsutaya is a lovely spot to enjoy your coffee with the latest fashion magazine, or any other kind of magazine or book. The shop also sells music and movies and has a salon with rare collections of books and magazines from around the world. Today, I had my morning coffee there, together with readings about Christina Dior. On our way back home we passed by a lovely boutique that only sells wedding dresses. In the window I saw this beautiful wedding dress.

I love it because it looks romantic, but at the same it is elegant. I wish that I might wear such one for my coming wedding. We are planning to invite friends and family for another wedding in near future. I love gathering with family and friends, especially to such a special occasion.

Stay lovely,

Pink & Beige in Japan!

Dear Beautiful!

I hope you are doing great. Maybe you are enjoying the beautiful season with a loved one or sitting at a lovely café with view to all the flower blossoms!

Japanese girls/women love the two colors beige and pink. When you e.g enter a train, and sitting and watching all the beautiful ladies, the basic colors in their outfits are beige and pink. It looks very lovely and classic. Also their nails are often painted in soft pale pink and beige colors and sometimes with small motives.

In Japan, the color pink symbolizes good health and life. Pink in Japan is also strongly associated with cherry blossom and spring, and this has some masculine associations as the cherry blossoms (sakura) are said to represent the young Samurai who fell in the battle in the prime of their life. Pink also represents pure love, childish innocence, purity (for example, a girl who is virgin in body and heart) and cuteness. The color pink in the Japanese language is ピンク(pinku). It is a relative new word for Japanese. Before it was called momo-iro (peach-color).

A popularly blogger for the Japanese fashion magazine, 25 ans, is Aki Weng. If you check her Instagram, @akinyc you will see that her basic color is pink!! Another interesting Japanese blogger, and cloth designer is @akiki_2015 (below pictures are from her blog).

Stay Lovely,
